Joseph of Arimathea Society

The mission of the Saint Joseph of Arimathea Pallbearer Ministry is fourfold:
  • To practice the Corporal Works of Mercy by offering pallbearer services for those in need, especially the poor and the elderly
  • To affirm the value and dignity of human life
  • To represent the community at a person’s final commendation
  • To commemorate and pray for the dead

The pallbearer ministry is one of respect and care, presence and prayer. In seeking to live out the gospel and be leaders in Christian service, student pallbearers offer sympathy and support to others and hope in the face of death. It also allows for reflection and perspective upon the limited nature of life and the urgency of service to others.
