Open to Growth

With Sapientia in Christo ("Wisdom in Christ"), the graduate has begun to stretch his mind, imagination, feelings, and religious consciousness and understands the need for continual growth.

Intellectually Competent

A Rockhurst graduate exhibits a mastery of the fundamental academic requirements for higher education, as well as interdisciplinary skills and understandings that go beyond what is required. He also sees the need for intellectual integrity and integrating spiritual values with all aspects of his life.

Religious

A graduate understands the major doctrines and practices of the Catholic Church, and will have examined his own religious beliefs in order to choose a fundamental orientation toward God and establish a relationship with a religious tradition and/or community.

Loving

By graduation, a Rockhurst student is well on the way to establishing his own identity. He is prepared to move beyond self-interest or self-centeredness in relationships with God and other people, risk deeper involvement in relationships, accept the mystery of another person, and cherish that person.

Committed to Doing Justice

A Rockhurst graduate has achieved considerable knowledge of the many needs of local and wider communities and is preparing to take a place in these communities as a competent, concerned, and responsible member.
