2022 Mother Son Dinner Dance

It is an opportunity for each Rockhurst student to spend an evening of dinner and dancing with his mother (or other special person).

 

Don’t worry – most sons don’t initiate the invitation. It’s appropriate for moms to arrange the “date.” Sons may not appear enthusiastic for the event, but the evening is a great time for both mothers and sons.

 

The senior boys will wear their tuxedos. Underclassmen should wear shirts, ties and nice trousers; many will wear a blazer or suit. Jeans, shorts, or cargo pants are not appropriate. Moms wear a variety of outfits – dressy slacks, suits, skirts and dresses.

 

Reservations are made online only. Each table seats 10 people. When you register online, you will have an opportunity to list a group you would like to sit with. Requests must be submitted by Jan 26^th to guarantee seating with your son’s class.

 

For Freshmen:  In the spirit of building community in our Freshmen class, Freshmen and their mothers will be assigned to tables.  Table assignments may be picked up at the event registration table.

 

Please make your reservation and the committee will seat you with others from your son’s class.

 

WHAT IF A STUDENT’S MOTHER IS UNABLE TO ACCOMPANY HIM? Students are encouraged to attend with a Rockhurst classmate and his mom. Another option is to bring a special adult woman – aunt, godmother, sister, grandmother, etc.

 

No tickets are issued. When you make a reservation, a confirmation will be sent to the email address provided. If you do not receive the confirmation email, your reservation is not complete. Please contact Moira Healy at 816-363-2039 x582 or mhealy@rockhursths.edu.

 

WHEN WE ARRIVE AT THE GRAND PLAZA at UNION STATION, DO WE NEED TO CHECK IN? Yes, there will be Rockhurst dads available at tables to take your name, check you off the reservation list, and provide you with your table number.

 

Professional photos will be taken from about 5:30-8:30pm. You may pay with cash, check, or credit card. More information will be available at the dance and information on photo packages is on the website. There will also be photobooths for candid pictures.

 

DJ Tucker will be our DJ for the evening. The first four dances will be class mother/son dances – senior, freshman, sophomore, and junior.
