STEAM Program Earns Recognition

To round out the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year, Rockhurst High School was recognized for its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) programming efforts.

In November, Rockhurst was a selection on Newsweek Magazine's list of "Top 5,000 STEM High Schools". Rockhurst was ranked in the top-650 nationally (98th percentile) among more than 30,000 high schools that were analyzed over a three-year period to determine the rankings.

In December, the school was named as a recipient of the STEM School of Excellence Recognition by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA).

This association recognizes outstanding schools for their commitment to providing a robust Integrative STEM education program. Rockhurst was one of just 10 schools selected in the world for this honor for the 2019-20 academic year.
These designations are a testament to the efforts of our STEAM Team, led by Greg Owsley '00, the entire Rockhurst faculty, staff and administration, alumni, parents, community supporters and of course our students.
