Honor Roll of Donors
Message from Fr. President
My prayerful reflections continue to be those of gratitude for Rockhurst High School and the people who support our mission. Every time the annual Honor Roll of Donors is presented, I think about what a remarkable gift our benefactors are to Catholic education in Kansas City, and how important Jesuit formation is to the young “men for others” entrusted to our care.
Your charitable donations have reached unparalleled levels of support and allow us to distinguish Rockhurst High School in extraordinary ways.
Academic Achievement – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) programs continue to grow, and are now being shared with other institutions across the area – making Rockhurst High School a “school for others.”
Campus Beautification – The successful Building on Our Tradition capital campaign has provided the financial resources needed to construct new facilities for our faculty and students, including Active Learning Classrooms, a Student Life and Alumni Center, and an Academic Learning Commons.
Catholic Identity – Christ is the focus of all our work. Spiritual formation for faculty and students were enhanced through donor support, including enhanced KAIROS, Sophomore, and Freshman retreats; All-School Liturgical services; daily Mass; as well as Ignatian service programs as meaningful ways for the Rockhurst High School community to develop closer relationships with God.
Enrollment and Tuition Assistance – Our student body comes from 95 different zip codes across the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. We were able to award more than $2.2 million in tuition assistance grants to 43% of families on the strength of our donor support.
As my service to Rockhurst High School draws to an end on June 30, 2017. There is a profound feeling of personal gratitude in my heart for what this wonderful Jesuit apostolate has meant to my life.
Thank you for your kindness to me, as well as your continued passion and love for Rockhurst High School.
You will remain in my prayers. With God’s best blessings, I am
Rev. Terrence A. Baum, SJ
