2018 PreACT Information
Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 (freshman & sophomores only)

The PreACT test provides:

  • Early indication of progress and ideas for improvement -- PreACT gives students an estimated ACT test score and can be used as an indicator of college and career readiness. Reports include data to help teachers and counselors target interventions, inform classroom instruction, and guide students in course selection.
  • Fast, robust reporting -- Reports are ready quickly, so teachers and students can get to work turning PreACTinsights into action. Reports include information about student interests that counselors can use to advise students in thinking about college majors and careers.
  • Easy, flexible, and affordable administration -- PreACT encompasses paper-based, multiple-choice tests in English, math, reading, and science.
  • Preparation for future --The choices a student makes in high school help chart a course for life after it. Educators can use insights from PreACT report data to help students prepare for success— and start making informed choices well before graduation.

  • This is a practice test for the ACT. Score reports will be mailed to your home address in a Rockhurst envelope in late January.
  • I will meet with all Freshmen and Sophomores before the exam date to discuss the nuts and bolts of the exam with them.
  • A night will be scheduled for parents and students to come in and discuss test results with myself.  Test booklets will be returned through your English teacher. An email will be sent outlining your score report and what each sections and scoring means.
  • Please bring an approved calculator and several #2 pencils.
  • Room assignments will be posted on the Rock Shop window before the exam date.
  • Students should arrive at 7:45 and will be dismissed at approx. 11:30
