Annual Harvest Food Drive Supports Local Charities

Rockhurst's annual Harvest Food Drive took place over Nov. 14-18.  Student Government Association (SGA) led the goal of each grade level donating 4,000 lbs. canned goods that would benefit local food pantries and organizations.

This year's recipient organizations were St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, Don Bosco Center, Avenue of Life, Bishop Sullivan Center, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, Christ The King Catholic Church, Redemptorist Center, St. Elizabeth Parish, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Student efforts led to surpassing the goal, with a final donation count of 17,156 lbs. of canned goods. Students also filled six 55-gallon trash bags with warm clothing that went to the Don Bosco Center.
