Two of the greater Kansas City area’s rising stars in city management are David Alvey of Kansas City, Kansas and Quinton Lucas of Kansas City, Missouri. Come listen to these devoted public servants speak about their visions for the future at our Alumni Breakfast Series Mayoral Forum.
The mayors will discuss a wide variety of topics that are of interest to residents on both sides of the State Line, including common challenges and solutions, engaging young voters and citizens, cross cities strategies, and more. They will also take your questions.
Mayor Alvey was elected as the 30th Mayor of the City of Kansas City, KS and the fourth Mayor/CEO of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS on November 7, 2017. He has built his community service reputation with honesty and hard work devoted to the citizenry. Before being elected he served on staff at Rockhurst High School for more than 20 years.
Mayor Lucas became the 55th Mayor of Kansas City, MO on August 1, 2019. He has prioritized making Kansas City’s neighborhoods safer, creating more accessible and affordable housing and public transportation, fostering a healthier community and improving basic services. Mayor Q was a member of the University of Kansas Law School faculty, where he served as one of the youngest tenure-track law professors in the country.
